For next week's OSD newsletter, just listened to this podcast, People I Mostly Admire by Steven Levitt of Freakonomics fame. Arne Duncan, former Secretary of Education under Obama talking about how much gun violence affects our young people and what he's doing to end it in the Chicago area. At first, I thought it was going to be the traditional "ban all guns!" rallying cry, but Mr Duncan never mentioned gun control once. They're working with the community and those hardest hit (economically and emotionally) to stop the violence feedback loop.
