Thing is an electromagnetic home defense projector (we won't call it a gun) can be tethered to an 80lb basestation fed by batteries, a capacitor, and full household current. It doesn't need to be portable it just needs to be handy.
RE: The 1911 video. I am always blown away that John M. Browning could visualize all of that without any CAD software, including manipulating just about every part in his mind, I.e. being able to visualize how a part would work if placed slightly differently.
Guns suck.
Mines. Mines are what we need.
Thank you. The only logical conclusion.
You don’t have to aim them.
They work splendidly well for decades in the ground.
You put them out and they won’t (generally) go boom if no one steps on them.
The trespasser can’t claim they were not on your property.
They courteously let you know when they’ve activated, defending your home for you.
They are cheap.
You don’t have to be awake or even be home for them to work.
If the trespassers are bunched up, one mine can get several of them.
Honestly don't see any flaws in this logic.
The best ones even come with instructions embossed right on the case.

Genius
I was surprised when I saw the ITAR warning on my MagPul AR forend...
Sadly writing "For Airsoft Only" on the box is not an effective ITAR compliance approach.
